The first mention of the village dates back to 1261. The village is located on the left bank of the river Dřevnice, at an altitude of 242 metres, 7 km from Zlín and 9 km from Vizovice. There is a church of St. Peter and Paul and a memorial to the fallen in World War I and World War II in the village square.

Lending books and magazines, offering internet access. In addition to domestic fiction, our library collection includes world fiction, magazines, children's books and specialist literature.

Primary nine year old school for 500 pupils. Running a school day care and canteen. We focus on language education, environmental education. We create a positive relationship with traditions, historical and cultural heritage and sports.

An international educational movement for youth and children aged 6 and up organizing meetings, expeditions, events and camps. The basic mission is to promote the personality development of young people, their spiritual, moral, intellectual, social and physical abilities.

A private elementary art school for 840 pupils with a focus on music, art and literature and drama. We focus on the development of brass music, dulcimer music, universal orchestras in order to strengthen traditional music ensembles in the villages.

We ensure the protection of life, health and property of residents during fires and other emergencies in our community and beyond. We organize cultural events. The congregation was founded in 1891, namely dp. Dean Jan Vychodil, a parish priest in Želechovice. Recently the choir celebrated 130 years of existence and continues to function and work.
