Originally a late Gothic water fortress, it was rebuilt and extended in the 16th century in the Renaissance style. Already at that time, there was probably a Gothic fortress with a manor house, which was lent to the Austrian nobleman Siegfried Sirotek by the Czech King Wenceslas I in 1249.
