Originally a late Gothic water fortress, it was rebuilt and extended in the 16th century in the Renaissance style. Offer tours of historical castle expositions. The first historical report about this locality dates back to 1222. Already at that time, there was probably a Gothic fortress with a manor house, which was lent to the Austrian nobleman Siegfried Sirotek by the Czech King Wenceslas I in 1249. It is possible to organize weddings and banquets.

Operation of the castle in which the series Chetnik humoresky (I. series) was filmed. Židlochovice Castle is one of the best preserved hunting castles in Europe and together with the historic pheasantry and deer preserves it creates a unique hunting complex, continuing the centuries-old hunting tradition of this area.

The castle is surrounded by a large park. However, it did not acquire its present Neo-Renaissance appearance with classical elements until the mid-19th century. Visitors can see the historical library, which contains 13,000 volumes of books, and the permanent exhibition in the public areas.
