The castle is one of the oldest castles in Bohemia and is still owned by the Sternberg family, who founded it in 1241. Originally a Gothic castle, it was rebuilt several times, especially in the Baroque period, when its interiors took on an almost castle-like appearance. Visit one of the oldest aristocratic castles built by the Buzic family, allegedly by Oldřich Zajíc. In 1346 the castle was besieged. Extensive parts of the fortifications, a bergfrit and the remains of two palaces have been preserved. Below the castle, towards the stream, there is a stone sea.
