The abbey founded by Vladislav II and his wife Gertrude shortly before 1144 existed until 1782, after which it was converted into a castle and farm buildings. The Romanesque Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, which was completed in 1144-1186, the outer walls of the basilica and the five-bay crypt have been preserved.
