Its owner Zacharias of Hradec had the original Gothic castle turned into a Renaissance mansion in the 16th century. The reconstruction took place in two stages under the direction of Italian masters. The chateau also includes the chateau park, the former Rudolec brewery, granary, back of house inn, cross road, smithy, orangery, chateau keeper's building, stables and the Vrzalák pond.

We offer castle tours and operate a study depository. We have an exhibition of artistic wrought iron work. Another part of the exhibition includes toys from the collection of František Kyncl. In the underground of the chateau there is a monumental object The Journey of glass artist and sculptor Alena Matějková.

Tours of the castle ruins. The castle was probably built at the beginning of the 13th century by the Moravian Přemyslids as a stronghold on the tri-border of Bohemia, Moravia and Austria.
