The gate is one of the most important landmarks of the town and together with the castle it dominates the historical centre. The building consists of a Renaissance entrance gate, the facade of which is decorated with a relief designed by Mikoláš Alš. It depicts the coat of arms of the Lords of Pardubice, whose coat of arms is used by the town as the town emblem.

The program is created in cooperation with non-profit organizations, amateur artists and schools, which find here a space for the presentation of their own activities and projects. Interactive exhibitions or workshops for children and youth are also organized here.
