The South Bohemian Museum in České Budějovice is one of the most important cultural institutions in South Bohemia. It was founded in 1877 as one of the oldest regional museums.

The permanent exhibition offers a view of the interior architecture of the townhouse, rich ethnographic collections, handicraft production and social life of the 19th century.

You can find here a historical model of the town of Velešín made by Mr. Zdeněk Korbela according to the cadastral map from 1893 or a smaller model showing a part of the Velešín horse-drawn carriage with a salt wagon. The town museum in the Renaissance Rosenberg House focuses on the history of the town and the region. We participate in the organization of thematic and art exhibitions. In the exhibition there is a collection of postcards, folk embroidery, a collection of woolenware, porcelain, weapons, folk and bourgeois furniture and, among other things, a folk world.

The Prácheň Museum has been housed in the historic building of the former royal castle since 1902. The museum represents the cultural and natural heritage of the Prague Region and Písek. The museum also includes a professional library, a museum shop and an accompanying programme of lectures and events for the public.
