The museum was founded in 1888 and focused mainly on the history, history and folklore of the German population. Today it offers permanent exhibitions, exhibitions, professional and cultural events for the public, mainly focused on the history and nature of Most and its surroundings.
The museum was established in October 2018 in the historic Waterworks "Black" Tower building. It is primarily dedicated to Josef Tomáš Škoda, M.D., an eminent physician who was born in the Water Tower and whose birth room houses an exhibit dedicated to him.

The individual exhibitions will reveal the secrets of leather glove production, guide you through Jewish history, water management and other attractions of the town. A part of the exhibition is dedicated to Ludvík Kopáček, the former town secretary.

Among the latest exhibitions is the Nepomuk Cabinet in the attic. The multi-functional visitor cabinet presents the town from several new attractive perspectives. The museum features an exhibit of the defunct Pomuk Cistercian monastery, Green Mountain Castle, Country Household, and Liberator B-24.
The museum documents the mining of iron ore in the Nučica area. The exhibits remind the history of the village, the history of social, sports and other organizations or associations. There is also a gallery of paintings and works by Professor Arnošt Paderlík, a native and honorary citizen of Nučice.
The museum is located in the local castle in 3 exhibition rooms. On an area of 12 m2 you can see a unique model of the town dating back to 1720. The model includes moving figures, complete with sounds, it is also possible to light up all the cottages, including the castle and the church, via 180 keys.
The Blatná City Museum is located in the historic centre of Blatná in a pink building at 212 Míru Square near the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and near the Blatná Castle. On the 1st floor of this building there are exhibition spaces, where you will find the permanent exhibition Museum of All Senses and various short-term exhibitions.
