The Upper Synagogue is the only preserved synagogue in Mikulov out of the original twelve. It was built in 1450. After a fire in 1719 it underwent extensive reconstruction. It is a Polish-style synagogue. During and after World War II it served as a warehouse. It was restored to its former appearance in 2014.
The museum can be found in the Renaissance scholastery in the main square. It preserves and documents the memory of the eastern Brno region. It prepares thematically diverse exhibitions for its visitors, always accompanied by a playroom or a programme for children.
The memorial was built in honour of the victims of the Battle of Austerlitz, as intended by the priest and teacher Alois Slovák in fulfilment of his vision to make the centre of the former battlefield.
