The memorial was built in honour of the victims of the Battle of Austerlitz, as intended by the priest and teacher Alois Slovák in fulfilment of his vision to make the centre of the former battlefield. The Slovak Museum Memorial was built over the foundations of a 9th century cemetery church discovered by archaeologist Vilém Hrubý in 1949.

At the Aviation Museum there are no barriers between visitors and exhibits. Within one admission fee you can look inside the aircraft, listen to the radio communication of the crews with the Kunovice airport tower and soak up the aviation atmosphere.
