The museum has a permanent exhibition of relics of Swabian ancestors.

The Botany Department deals with systematics and phytogeography of higher plants, fungi and bryophytes. It carries out documentation of these systematic groups with emphasis on Central and Southern Europe. The library and herbarium are open to the professional public.
