We run a museum with an exhibition depicting rural life in the first half of the last century. Mainly farm machinery and tools are on display, but also a display of rural living including household furnishings.

The museum is housed in the baroque building of the original Piarist schools, known as the scene of Alois Jirásek's Philosophical History. It offers a modern exhibition on the history of Litomyšl with archaeological excavations in situ, a number of unique objects and a rich children's program. It organizes short-term exhibitions.

We operate a museum with an exposition focused on folk culture and crafts of the Moravian Highlands. We focus on glassmaking, ironwork and the history of the town. We run a museum about the history of Hrebec and human destinies on the grounds of one of the few surviving Hrebec farms. Everything here is functional, still in use today and many animals live here too.

In the grounds of the national cultural monument Cistercian Abbey Porta Coeli in Předklášteří you will find a museum with permanent exhibitions and short-term exhibitions in the building of the former provost's office. The premises of the monastery church, now the parish church, are open at hourly intervals.

In the museum you will find an exposition of the Stratílek fire extinguishing company and the exposition Vysoké Mýto světové. We regularly prepare other short-term exhibitions on various topics and events for the public.

Expositions in the premises of the former water mill refer to the iron tradition of the Žďár region. Visitors will learn how medieval ironworkers obtained the basic raw materials, i.e. wood, charcoal and iron. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the last inhabitants of the building, the Brdíček family.

Within the framework of research activities it is possible to get acquainted with extensive collections of geology, archaeology, ethnography, botany, mycology, entomology and art.

We offer a permanent exhibition on the history and mining of limestone in the settlement of Vitosov, supplemented by descriptions of individual minerals.
