The museum was founded by local chronicler Josef Turinský in the 1960s. The exposition recalls old crafts as well as the history of the village from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. The museum's permanent exhibition presents visitors with the village life of our ancestors and traditional crafts in their historical and contemporary form. A significant part of the exhibition is devoted to emigration to America. Visitors can thus learn about the reasons for emigration, its course and the individual stories of the emigrants themselves.

The exposition will introduce the visitor to the history of the KFJB railway in the section České Velenice - České Budějovice in the context of the history of railway transport in the world and in South Bohemia, it will present everyday life on the railway, passenger and freight transport.
