The Blatná City Museum is located in the historic centre of Blatná in a pink building at 212 Míru Square near the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and near the Blatná Castle. On the 1st floor of this building there are exhibition spaces, where you will find the permanent exhibition Museum of All Senses and various short-term exhibitions.

The exhibition traces the history of the coexistence of man and cat from the time of ancient Egypt to the present day. Visitors will learn more about cats in fine and applied arts, the breeding of noble cats and the personalities who bred cats.

Museum operations.

The museum is located in the building of the former Jewish synagogue. Thanks to the local native V. Mentberger, it has managed to gather collections of tin, cast iron, porcelain, faience, stoneware, as well as German, French, Italian and Spanish ceramics, as well as a collection of local pottery, pipe making and Kasey embroidery.

We operate an open-air museum of folk architecture. There is a timbered shed with a barn, a timbered spychar, a timbered barn from the mill premises, a copy of a fruit dryer, a residential cottage and a copy of a woodcutter's seasonal log cabin. There is also a niche chapel with a baroque treasury and a reconciliation cross.

The mission of the museum is primarily to present our region in its specific features, such as agriculture, crafts, folk creativity, history, minerals, etc.

We offer the possibility to visit the house of Mikoláš Alš and the exposition of the puppeteer Matěj Kopecký.

The former Jesuit college houses a permanent exhibition of paintings by Ludvík Kuba. The gallery presents a thematic section of his rich oeuvre. A new museum exhibition for children and adults, Puppetry in Březnice, is partly dedicated to the puppeteer of the Prácheň region, Arnoště Kopecká.

We run a museum of winged antique things from the past.

The museum offers five permanent exhibitions: the Lords of Rožmitál, How Life Was in Podbrdsko, the Jakub Jan Ryba Memorial and the Czech Christmas Mass, the Aero Historic Car Exhibition and the Barn Full of Crafts. In the summer months we also prepare summer interactive exhibitions for families with children.

The museum was built by the enthusiasm of a cottager. Information about the history and present of old Rožmital, local customs, dialect, natural disasters, prophecies, etc. A collection of nails with a story, a collection of solar figurines.
