The museum can be found in the Renaissance scholastery in the main square. It preserves and documents the memory of the eastern Brno region. It prepares thematically diverse exhibitions for its visitors, always accompanied by a playroom or a programme for children.

The memorial was built in honour of the victims of the Battle of Austerlitz, as intended by the priest and teacher Alois Slovák in fulfilment of his vision to make the centre of the former battlefield. It carries out documentation of these systematic groups with emphasis on Central and Southern Europe. The library and herbarium are open to the professional public. In the museum's authentic premises you can see individual exhibits related to the Battle of the Three Emperors. The room where the strategic meeting between Emperor Napoleon and his marshals took place is currently a museum with original relics of the Battle.
