The monumental building from 1898 in the historicist style has been the seat of the Liberec Museum since the beginning, which after a recent reconstruction offers playfulness, interactivity and involvement of the whole family. The civic association runs a museum of traditional rural life, crafts and agriculture in the outbuildings of an 18th-century house. The Regional Museum in Višňová presents the history of Višňová and other surrounding villages.

In the museum there is an exposition of power engineering, a boiler room, an exposition of aircraft engines from the depository of the Military Historical Institute Prague, and an exposition of textile production. The museum is located in a half-timbered building from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. There is an open-air exhibition. There is also a local forge dating from 1893. In the residential part of the house there is an exhibition of laundry and also household furnishings from the 1930s to the 1950s.

The museum is housed in an architecturally valuable Art Nouveau villa with partially preserved interiors and offers historical and ethnographic exhibitions, the estate of the writer Karolina Světlá, a unique Gothic cabinet with stencil decoration and, in a separate exhibition, the Romanesque-Gothic premises of the former Johannine commandery.

The museum focuses mainly on the history of transport, the industrial and technological past and the present of the region. Among the exhibits you will find historic cars, motorcycles and a unique exhibition of bicycles. Tram and railway enthusiasts will also find something to enjoy. Don't expect boring technology, even children get excited.

We operate a museum with an exposition of the history of narrow gauge railways. We exhibit the LGB model railway, photographs, documents or artefacts from the history of the operation of the FOD lines, especially the narrow gauge railway or the historic locomotive T 36.002. We sell postcards, publications, souvenirs and more.

In our museum you will find around 25 examples of period motorcycles, mostly domestic brands JAWA and ČZ, with production from 1952 to the 1990s. Motorcycle accessories and accessories are on display. The youngest visitors can admire period models of trains, cars and motorcycles.
