The museum's collection contains evidence of the permanent settlement of the territory of today's Kojetín and from the Paleolithic period, examples of folk art, costumes, folk pottery, a rich numismatic collection, an extensive collection of old prints, handicraft tools, historical weapons, works of art and much more.

The exhibitions show how the ancestors of the local inhabitants lived, what they were like, what they created and what legacy they left us. Historical machines, tools, furniture and everyday objects were donated to the museum by the inhabitants of Prosenice and the surrounding area.
In the museum you can see exhibits related to the history of Potštát and its surroundings, from the time when Potštát belonged to the Walderode family until the end of the 20th century. The fate of the inhabitants of Potštat and the surrounding villages was fundamentally influenced by the displacement of the German population after World War II and the establishment of the Libavá military area.
The exhibition commemorates the life and work of Tomáš Vitek, who lived in Skalička for many years, but otherwise spent his life mainly building ships and travelling around the world.
