Doubice Museum was opened to the public on 26.10.2014 as a municipal museum with many interesting exhibits and documents from the history of the village.
A log cabin used as a mini museum has been completely renovated after a devastating flood. In one part of it visitors will find a new original playful exhibition. Children can try out stylish exhibits inspired by the late 19th century, the time of the origins of local tourism. Refreshments are available on site.
We operate a glass museum focusing on engraved and cut glass from the 17th century to the present. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the local glass school, the J. & L. Lobmeyr company and international symposiums of engraved glass. We exhibit collections of historicizing crystal trimmed chandeliers and layered lighting fixtures.
You will find an exhibition on the technological development of Czech glass from the 17th century to the present day. We organize short-term exhibitions. The permanent exhibition also includes contemporary studio glass. The exhibition also includes archival documents mapping the glassmaking history of the town.
We manufacture costume jewellery and glass beads of various shapes and cuts. We offer fire-polished, pressed, flattened, lampwork and large-core beads, pendants and metalwork. You can buy wholesale or retail in our store and visit our Beadmaking Museum to tour our production.
We offer visitors a collection of modern glass - both applied and fine art. A unique element is the possibility to watch the glassmakers work from the gallery. The museum aims to enrich cultural life through a permanent exhibition and short-term exhibitions.
