Borovany in the České Budějovice region opened a renovated former Augustinian monastery in July 2010. In addition to tours of the monastery buildings, cultural events are held in the interior or in the adjacent garden during the tourist season.
The museum's permanent exhibition presents visitors with the village life of our ancestors and traditional crafts in their historical and contemporary form. A significant part of the exhibition is devoted to emigration to America. Visitors can thus learn about the reasons for emigration, its course and the individual stories of the emigrants themselves.
You will find two gardens on our premises: the 20-year-old Anastasia demonstration nature garden of 6000m2 and the community garden of 3500m2 established in October 2016. You can see for yourself that the principles of nature and rain gardens that we apply here work not only for nature but also for people.

At one time, up to 32 horses were stabled in the stables. Today, this wonderful space is used mainly for concerts. You can also visit the stables as part of the C tour.
We offer unique cultural and historical experiences in the magical surroundings of the former library of Petr Vok from 1608. The house has had various uses throughout history, including a pharmacy. The castle is interesting thanks to the hermit chapel, which was built about 70 years after the castle's demise, and the shaft of unknown purpose, which contained a large tower. Today, the castle is used mainly for nature trips and unique views across the waters of the reservoir.
