The municipal museum in this village near the Orlik reservoir opened in June 2009. It hosts a number of short-term exhibitions.

The more modern history of horse breeding in Písek began in 1902, when breeding stallions were placed in the newly built stud farm, but the first mention of a stallion station dates back to 1811.
