The Museum of Central Pootaví Strakonice is located in the grounds of Strakonice Castle, which was founded by the Bavarian family from Strakonice in the first quarter of the 13th century. Since 1995 the castle has been a national cultural monument. The museum offers a number of permanent exhibitions - Order of the Knights of Malta, Czech Armoury, Bagpipes and Bagpipe Traditions.

The castle offers a tour of exhibits depicting society in prehistoric times, the Rožmberk family or products from Strakonice - fezes and motorcycles in 11 halls. But it is the rooms themselves that are worth seeing, such as the small and large Knights' Hall, the castle chapel or the view from the 31-metre high Rumpál tower.
