Organisation of cultural programmes. In addition to the seasonal exhibitions, there are two exhibitions: loans of original Turnov decorations on Torah scrolls from the Jewish Museum in Prague and archaeological findings from the medieval house that used to stand on the site of the synagogue.
We run a permanent exhibition focusing on the history and present of gemstone processing and jewellery making. We also offer an exhibition of stonemasonry and glassmaking, an archaeological and mineralogical exhibition. A new climbing exhibition has also been added. We offer rentals for cultural and commercial activities.
We offer a demonstration of a village dwelling, an exhibition of agricultural or handicraft tools and the history of mills and milling in the region. The fairy tale Rumplcimprcampr was filmed on the farm. We publish a museum quarterly. We organise social and cultural events.
Operation of a hunting lodge. We offer Baroque-style interiors, a feast hall with distinctive acoustics, a viewing gallery and a tower with an oval floor plan. On the first floor you can find a 16-metre high banquet hall with distinctive acoustics and on the second floor an observation gallery.
The ruins of Frýdštejn castle is one of the three castles of the Jablonec district. The first mention dates back to 1385. The castle was written about in Karolina Světlá's book "About Krejčíkovic Anežka". The ruins of the castle were used for filming the movies About Princess Jasněnka and the Flying Shoemaker and Murder in Our Own Way.
Cultural life has a very long tradition in Sobotka. Already in the middle of the 19th century there was an amateur theatre in one of the oldest theatre halls in the Czech countryside (former Baroque salt house in No. 5 on the square).
During the year you can see exhibitions on various themes in the museum. The current offer can be found on the website. The museum also manages a permanent exhibition of medicine and organises a visit to the Church of St. Peter and Paul with a view of Semily from the church tower from June to September.
