PLATO is the city's contemporary art gallery. We provide facilities for all those who want to understand the contemporary world in a broader context. We reflect its complexity and richness through art - in an international context and at the highest possible level.
Operation of an art gallery. We specialize in Czech and European fine art and architecture of the 19th and 20th centuries. We are the main organizer of the Ostrava Museum Night, we prepare a mini-marathon of electronic music, we cooperate in the Malamut festival.
The Red Church is used for cultural purposes, especially for exhibitions, concerts, small theatre performances, but also for weddings and other celebrations. The theatre can seat 97 people. It is also possible to use the newly renovated organ.
The gallery offers exhibitions with architectural themes, photographic exhibitions focused on scenography or famous personalities. There are also openings and other accompanying programmes - concerts, lectures and seminars, book signings and author readings.
Offering tours of a former coal mine with a collection of original machinery from the early 20th century. The Michal Mine's earliest history is linked to efforts to promote coal mining. Possibility of organizing seminars, corporate events, lectures, meetings, trainings, cultural events, as well as unusual weddings.
We run a permanent exhibition of historical craft tools and everyday objects, folk costumes and exhibits with a mining theme. You can also find an exposition of the Sedlišt'any Ethnographic Association, the Rozkvět Mining Association and the Volunteer Fire Brigade.
Operation of a historical castle monument open to the public with tours, exhibitions and cultural events. The complex offers guided tours, educational programs and various social events aimed at learning about history and cultural heritage.
The city's first ever museum with a permanent exhibition, Views into the City's Past. It has three exhibition rooms covering archaeological finds, history, religion, education, industry, transport and wars.
Exhibitions devoted to the origins and activities of the village, speedway, silver mining, railways, local manufacturing, World War II or farming in the past. There are also unique displays of aerial archaeology.
We operate a gallery with a permanent exhibition of fine art. In case of interest, the space can be used for presentations and lectures. The capacity of the space is 25 persons.
