The Museum of the Island of Folk Costumes has the largest collection of historical rural clothing in the Czech Republic. The unique exhibition is the first public presentation of all costume areas of the Czech Republic. In the museum you can admire over 260 costumes and over 4000 exhibits in total.

You can see the newly renovated castle in two tours. The playing orchestrion and the view from the 30-metre high tower will attract visitors of all ages. You can also visit other exhibitions such as the World of Blocks and Dolls, the Aquatic Museum and more. Tickets can be purchased at the information centre.

We provide presentations of exhibitions of Czech and world art of the 20th to 21st century in baroque houses and in the Romanesque cellar. There is a lecture centre, a children's corner and a café. Various art courses and other activities are organized within the lecture centre.

The castle is one of the oldest castles in Bohemia and is still owned by the Sternberg family, who founded it in 1241. Originally a Gothic castle, it was rebuilt several times, especially in the Baroque period, when its interiors took on an almost castle-like appearance. The tour of the castle takes about 50 minutes.

The Museum of the Bohemian Countryside, a branch of the National Museum of Agriculture, is housed in Kačina Castle, one of the most important Empire buildings in the Czech Republic. We operate a heritage site which is the original lime kilns. Inside there is an exhibition of the lime industry. It was built in 1893 and ceased operation in 1960.
