The first mention of the castle dates back to 1348, according to archaeological findings, the building stood here as early as the late 13th or early 14th century. Rural exhibition on the theme of the life of the villagers of the Central Povltava region in the 19th to 20th centuries. The archaeological part of the exposition presents the earliest history of the region connected with gold mining and processing.

The House of Nature of the Bohemian Karst is designed not only to serve as an entrance area to the Koněprus Caves, but also to meet all the needs of visitors and to provide sufficient facilities for the staff of the Koněprus Caves Administration.

We operate the premises and provide cave tours. The Koněprusské Caves are located in Central Bohemia, seven kilometres south of Beroun in the protected area of the Bohemian Karst Protected Landscape Area, near the castles of Křivoklát and Karlštejn. They were discovered in 1950 and opened to the public in 1959.

The neoclassical castle was built in the first half of the 18th century. The chateau building is part of a baroque complex consisting of the chateau building, an ash yard and a park. In 2005 it was bought by our company, which completely renovated the castle and placed its exposition.

We offer tours of the mine. Several hundred meters of tunnels in the former iron ore mine are open to the public, featuring a collection of unique exhibits commemorating the region’s glorious era of mining and quarrying, including working ventilation systems and an underground train ride.
