You can see the newly renovated castle in two tours. The playing orchestrion and the view from the 30-metre high tower will attract visitors of all ages. The Baroque rectangular ground-floor house standing on a slope at the southern edge of the grounds was built around 1728. The wide northern facade, originally opened by three wide arcades, is divided by a central shallow bay topped by a rectangular gable with adjoining volute wings.

The new interactive exhibition offers a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the UNESCO organisation and its activities, with the individual monuments of the Czech Republic inscribed on its list and especially with the leading UNESCO World Heritage Site - Kutná Hora. The unique late Gothic house is accessible from the basement to the attic.

The castle is one of the oldest castles in Bohemia and is still owned by the Sternberg family, who founded it in 1241. Originally a Gothic castle, it was rebuilt several times, especially in the Baroque period, when its interiors took on an almost castle-like appearance. The tour of the castle takes about 50 minutes.

We operate a heritage site which is the original lime kilns. Inside there is an exhibition of the lime industry. It was built in 1893 and ceased operation in 1960.
