Featuring artists of national and international renown. We concentrate on hosting exhibitions by artists from around the city. The collection consists of J. Čapka, F. Kupka, J. Šíma, J. Váchal and F. Gross.
We are engaged in organizing exhibitions, expositions and lectures. The museum includes the Old Boleslav Gate as well as the Upper Castle and the Chapel of St. Anne in Panenské Břežany. We also organise a number of short-term exhibitions for children and adults, lectures, theatre performances and other events.
The House of Nature of the Bohemian Karst is designed not only to serve as an entrance area to the Koněprus Caves, but also to meet all the needs of visitors and to provide sufficient facilities for the staff of the Koněprus Caves Administration.
Exhibitions of works of Czech art from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries to works by contemporary artists. We also prepare accompanying programs to exhibitions, lectures and other cultural or educational programs.
We offer a guided tour of the bastion, barracks and underground defence system. You can also see the lapidarium of sculptures by Matthias Bernard Braun.
Administration of the memorial of the poet Otokar Březina. Here you can see a permanent exhibition dedicated to his life and work. There is also a memorial plaque with a bust on the house from 1821.
The monastery was founded in 993 by Boleslav II and Abbot Vojtěch. The original buildings were in the Romanesque style. The church’s 11th-century crypt has been preserved beneath the Baroque Basilica of St. Margaret. The Baroque complex was built in stages between 1708 and 1745 according to a design by Kryštof and Ignác Dienzenhofer.
A few kilometres from the village of Krásno, in the middle of the Slavkov Forest, stands one of the most remarkable lookout towers in the country. The unique shape of the twenty-five-metre tower, whose spiral staircase winds unusually around its outer perimeter, may remind you of a Babylonian ziggurat.
An exhibition of machines and tools for rope making used about 200 years ago compared to the production of today. The tour includes a demonstration of the original production of different materials and different processes of both rope-making and weaving and weaving crafts.
Operation of an open-air museum. We try to reconstruct the village life of the 12th - 14th centuries. There are several dwellings, a herb garden, period ovens and an orchard.
Operation of a historical castle monument open to the public with tours, exhibitions and cultural events. The complex offers guided tours, educational programs and various social events aimed at learning about history and cultural heritage.
The information centre is located in the House of Jana and Josef V. Scheybal's house, which also houses the MY Municipal Gallery and the attic exhibition space.
During the year you can see exhibitions on various themes in the museum. The current offer can be found on the website. The museum also manages a permanent exhibition of medicine and organises a visit to the Church of St. Peter and Paul with a view of Semily from the church tower from June to September.
