We operate an information centre. We provide information on attractions, accommodation and cultural and sporting activities in the town and surrounding area. Internet is available to the public. Weddings, accommodation, space rental. The original Gothic fortress was rebuilt in the Renaissance style. The final form of the castle was acquired in 1848-53, when it was rebuilt in pseudo-Romanesque, pseudo-Gothic and some parts in pseudo-Baroque style, which makes it without artistic value. Now the castle grounds are undergoing extensive reconstruction.

We operate a Czech-Bavarian information centre representing two national parks, one nature park and a protected landscape area. The exposition includes a plastic map of Šumava with light signalling, showing the area from Regensburg to Linz and from České Budějovice to Čerchov.

It might seem that these two far-flung tourist destinations are now just interesting technical monuments. But the opposite is true. Both power stations are still faithfully serving and supplying electricity.
