The Old Town Bridge Tower is one of the most impressive gothic pieces in the world. The tower and the bridge were designed by Petr Parléř and built by Emperor Charles IV. The gateway to the Old Town of Prague was also conceived as a symbolic victory arch.

The taller of the two towers standing on the banks of the Vltava River is the youngest part of the entire Charles Bridge. It was built after 1464 at the expense of the Czech King George of Poděbrady on the site of an older Romanesque tower, which was built together with the lower tower.

The bell tower, which also served as a fire station and the residence of the sexton, was built together with the Church of St. Nicholas, but its larger part was built after the completion of the church.

The building of the miniature castle is a replica of the entrance gate at Vyšehrad. Inside the castle there is a system of mirrors, some of which are curved and create variously distorted images.
