The department performs the functions of the railway administrative, special construction, traffic and road administrative authority for the construction of traffic light installations, portals for traffic information systems and, within the scope of the Building Act, for construction carried out in connection with major traffic constructions.

Operation of the Department of Heritage Conservation. Issues decisions on alterations to cultural monuments or properties in conservation areas. Issues written professional opinions on activities that are in the interest of the protection of cultural monuments.

Focusing on the conservation, comprehensive development and care of green spaces. Provision of municipal waste management. Ensures the exercise of self-management of gardens and parks of citywide importance, urban forests, watercourses and areas, maintenance of specially protected areas.

Providing administration of the city budget and EU grant schemes.

The Municipal Police ensures public order on the territory of the capital city of Prague. It contributes to the protection of citizens and their property, controls compliance with public ordinances of the city, punishes offences, supervises the safety of children at pedestrian crossings.

Providing legislative and legal activities of the city authorities. Coordinates and controls the procurement process of the various departments.

Providing administration in the field of education and leisure activities.
