The University Hospital is one of the largest medical facilities not only in East Bohemia but also in the whole Czech Republic. Over 41 thousand patients are hospitalized every year at 39 departments including 24 clinics with 1360 beds. 700 thousand patients are treated as outpatients.

Providing care for patients with mental illness. Providing counseling for the treatment of affective disorders, alcoholism and other substance abuse, including counseling for the treatment of psychotic disorders and sleep disorders. We provide a methadone substitution program for chronically ill opiate dependent patients.

Providing comprehensive treatment of orthopedic problems including musculoskeletal trauma, excluding spondylosurgery. We provide total hip, knee, shoulder, elbow and ankle arthroplasty. We deal with small joint replacements of the hand. We offer arthroscopic treatment.

Providing paediatric abdominal surgery and trauma, neonatal surgery, oesophageal, chest wall, soft tissue and onco-surgery. Operation of a pediatric trauma center for children from neonatal age to 15 years, and in selected cases to 18 years. We perform endoscopic surgery.

Operation of a neurological outpatient clinic for adults. We deal with acute conditions and consultative work across the full spectrum of neurological conditions including providing follow-up investigations and treatment following acute treatment.

Outpatient treatment of ear, nose and throat diseases. We provide diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of disorders falling under the field of ENT.

Providing a comprehensive range of radiodiagnostic and interventional procedures. We perform magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, ultrasound, scans and pediatric x-rays.

Operation of a vascular surgery outpatient clinic. We deal with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic care of patients with chronic and acute disorders of arteries and veins of the whole body except for coronary vessels, ascending aorta and aortic arch, which fall under cardiac surgery.

We provide basic and specialized pharmacy care for inpatients and outpatients. We provide the necessary pharmacy service for clinical departments.
