The institute provides bachelor, master and doctoral studies in the fields of energy or fluid engineering, thermomechanics and environmental engineering. Courses in thermomechanics and hydromechanics are mandatory for all students of the faculty.

The Institute is engaged in aviation education, research and testing of aircraft and aviation technology. The Institute offers two courses in Aircraft Construction and Aircraft Operations. The Institute also offers a three-year professional bachelor's degree in Professional Pilot.

Receipt and professional management of documents, maintenance of filing aids, selection of archival material in and out of the shredding process and management of the Rector's Office filing room. Offer of foreign language courses with possibilities of professional specialization. We provide courses in Russian, German and Spanish. We focus on research in the fields of linguistics and teaching professional English. We use electronic texts, multimedia language classrooms, interactive whiteboards, video and audio programs.

Library functioning as an information centre. We keep an agenda of books, Czech and foreign magazines. The book collection includes books focusing on consumer chemistry, food chemistry, biomedical engineering, environment, mathematics or computer science. There are 80 study places.

The laboratory is engaged in research and development activities in the field of engineering and metallurgy.

Teaching of mathematical subjects and descriptive geometry. Focus on mathematical methods in economics, applied mathematics, time series, numerical methods, operations research. We offer continuing education courses, spring entrance exam preparation courses, and tutoring.

Teaching in numerical methods, applied mathematics, metrology, measurement methods and experimental, applied electrical and electronic engineering. The research project deals with the extraction, storage and optimal use of energy, in particular from renewable sources.

The department provides teaching of courses in the Master's degree in Information Systems, which includes the areas of programming, formal languages and compilers, database and information systems, computer networks or Internet applications. In addition, it also offers courses in the doctoral programme in Information Technology.
