The first written report dates back to 1302. The town is located at an altitude of 320 metres. The town is home to the Municipal Wind Orchestra, the Kopřivnice Singing Association, a senior citizens' dance troupe, the ROLNIČKA puppetry troupe and others.

Primary school for 750 pupils with a day-care centre and a canteen. We organize regular trips abroad, cultural trips, seminars, Olympiads, sporting events, open days and children's parties. We are involved in eTwinning and Women for Women.

Primary school for 650 pupils with a recreation hall and a canteen. There are chess, ceramics, editorial, sports and singing clubs. We organize ski courses, sightseeing trips or sports courses.

Church primary school for 250 pupils with dining room, day care and school club. We adopt children remotely. We run clubs for choral singing, sports skills, floorball, English language, PC writing or ceramics. We organize playschemes, seminars, outdoor schools. Pupils organise their own pupil council.
