The first written report dates back to 1346. The town is located at an altitude of 274 metres. Cultural monuments include the Parish Church of St. Bartholomew and a set of Baroque statues. The town has an urban conservation area.

We are a high school focused on so-called service trades such as hairdresser, massage therapist, auto mechanic, cook-waiter, baccalaureate extension business. Theory is taught in Odry and Vitkov, practice takes place at several separate workplaces.

A church secondary school providing four-year courses in teaching lycée, pre-school and after-school education, social work and nursing. Also provides organization of physical activities and sports clubs at the school.

The charity is a non-profit organization under the diocesan Charity of Ostrava-Opava. It provides social and health services in Odry, Fulnek, Vítkov, Budišov nad Budišovkou, Suchdol nad Odra and their surroundings.
