The municipal authority provides all the services within its competence to the citizens. The town of Hlučín is situated at the foot of the Hlučín Upland above the wide floodplain of the Opava River. The picturesque scenery of the surrounding countryside together with cultural monuments and recreational opportunities underline its tourist importance in the region.

Primary school for 138 pupils with a day care centre for pupils with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders and for pupils with combined disabilities.

We are a school with instruction in a traditional program. We incorporate modern and alternative methods in traditional education using modern technology, interactive whiteboards and tablets.

State vocational school providing two and three year courses. Vocations open and offered include: baking, cookery, confectionery, bricklaying and painting, shop assistant and care worker. The two-year branch is a practical school for pupils with special educational needs.

A comprehensive high school offering both four and six year courses. Catering for students is provided by the school canteen. There is a chemistry lecture room, a chemistry and physics laboratory, a multimedia classroom with an interactive whiteboard, an art and computer technology classroom. Pupils can use the school library and the cafeteria.
