The first written report dates back to 1352. The village is located at an altitude of 512 metres. There are 915 inhabitants. Provision of Czech POINT services.

We run a primary school for 260 pupils with a dining room and a day care centre. We take special care of pupils with SPU - specific learning difficulties. The school has a teaching assistant who works directly with pupils in the classroom and outside the classroom.

We run a kindergarten for 48 children with a canteen. The kindergarten is located not far from the Blaník Protected Landscape Area. The kindergarten has a large garden, which provides children with sufficient space for physical activities and staying outdoors. The kindergarten also provides access for disabled children.
