Probably in the 1360s, Czech King Přemysl Otakar II took advantage of the dominant hill above the older manor and built a solid stone castle on it to defend the trade route and against the expansion of the neighbouring families of Ronovec and Markvartice. It is possible to organize weddings.

The originally medieval castle, which is mentioned in historical sources from the first half of the 13th century, was one of the first manor castles in our territory.
