The town is located in the foothills of the Eagle Mountains, at an altitude of 375 meters. It is one of the largest in the Pardubice Region. The first written mention dates back to 1278. The town of Česká Třebová is a municipal authority of the ORP, whose administrative district consists of the municipalities of Třebovice, Rybník, Semanín, Přívrat.

The first written record dates back to 1226. The town is situated at an altitude of 290 metres. T. G. Masaryk and Eduard Beneš, for example, received the order of honorary citizenship in the town.
