The City Library lends books, magazines, audiobooks, e-books, board games, didactic toys and other documents to its readers. In addition to lending services, it provides the public with Internet access, copying services, and hosts cultural and educational events.

The library is one of the largest branches of the KJM with a high quality book collection, which is also widely used by visitors to other branches, and it organises events for the public. The branch has a book box and a Family Point with a changing table. Wheelchair access to the adult section is provided by a platform.

The library belongs to the medium-sized branches of the KJM, it is located on the ground floor of the Brno-Vinohrady Municipal Council building and has barrier-free access. It has a separate department for adult and children readers, it implements educational programmes for schools and organises a number of cultural and educational events for the general public.
