We operate a public universal library. We have lending libraries, study rooms, regional research rooms, galleries and literary cafes. We provide an online catalogue of books and internet access. We lend educational and children's literature, poetry, fiction and magazines. We organize library and literary events.

We manage and supplement the collections of regional literature from the Jičín region. We collect and make available documents of a collection nature, documenting cultural and other activities in the region and necessary for the professional work of the museum staff.
