The municipal library is a public universal library and serves a regional function for professional and non-professional libraries of the Semily region. The main activity is the provision of public library and information services.

Offering photocopying and printing in colour and black and white, lending of books and magazines, internet searches, internet access and computer use. We organise events such as pottery exhibitions, story afternoons and Christmas readings. We organise various talks for the elderly and others.

The bookstore has been operating since 1991. We sell books of all genres, maps and other beautiful things. We also run an e-shop where we offer e-books in addition to paper books.

We operate a museum library. We offer library services focusing on specialist and regional literature as well as a collection of old prints and manuscripts.
