In addition to lending books, periodicals and information services, the library regularly provides library lessons and talks for primary and kindergarten pupils. The aim of these events is to familiarize pupils with the library as a cultural institution, offering the possibility of quality time use and self-education.

A publicly accessible library and a contributory organization, whose founder is the City of Bruntál. Since 2015, the library has been housed in the reconstructed building of the former German Boys' Seminary, which has been a cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 2002.
