The evangelical church, built in the style of pure functionalism in 1932, was designed by the Prague architect Pavel Bareš, a native of Louny. The original plans for the church were drawn up by the prominent Prague architect Josef Gočár.

The new church was built according to the plans of Benedict the Jew as a three-aisled church with a tent roof and a tower on the facade. The church was rebuilt in the 19th century in the neo-Gothic style.
