The Institute of Laboratory Diagnostics provides its services in the areas of diagnostic and therapeutic care, educational and scientific research activities. They organize regional and national seminars for their specialties and for other clinical disciplines in the FNO.

We run the Institute of Clinical Biochemistry. We provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive care and are engaged in scientific research activities or educational activities in the field of clinical biochemistry.

We operate a spirometry workplace, an extended spirometry workplace with rhinomanometry and provocation test, a workplace for measuring pulmonary function testing during exercise, ECG and ergometry. We perform measurements of indirectly measurable lung volumes and flow resistances, diffusion capacity.

The electromyography laboratory is used to diagnose disorders of the peripheral nervous system, disorders of neuromuscular transmission and diseases of muscles; the examination of evoked potentials mainly examines the nerve pathways of the senses.

Video-electroencephalography is a diagnostic method based on electroencephalography. Unlike conventional electroencephalography, however, the video-EEG machine also records the patient's image and the sounds in the room along with the electrical activity of the brain.

Neurosonology is a modern, non-invasive diagnostic method aimed at diagnosing vascular diseases of the brain. Ultrasound waves are used for the examination.

It takes care of the needs of the outpatient and inpatient parts of the clinic in terms of dental technology.

The laboratory performs standard histological processing of tissues taken at autopsy to determine the cause of death. Special staining and immunohistochemical examinations carried out by the Special Methods Department are used to clarify diagnoses.

The laboratory performs special staining and impregnation methods such as methods for the detection of tissue structures, polysaccharides, pigments, bacteria or inorganic substances.

The biopsy laboratory is used for the reception and basic processing of biopsy material, including perioperative examinations.

The laboratory performs immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical methods to refine the diagnosis of cancer, to determine its histogenesis, or predictive and prognostic factors.

The laboratory performs cellular examinations of all body tissues, especially cytological examinations of lungs, lymph, urine, salivary glands, thyroid, GIT, breasts.
