The museum was founded in 1891 at the instigation of the organisers of the Jubilee Exhibition. The villa of the architect Otto Rothmayer houses a permanent exhibition The Story of a House and a Family. The exhibition recalls the distinctive style of Otto Rothmayer's architectural work and at the same time seeks to evoke the atmosphere of the living, working and artistic environment that Rothmayer created together with his wife.
