Uechi-ryu is one of the four traditional Okinawan styles of karate. It is said to be the closest of all Okinawan styles to its original Chinese martial arts roots. The Kenyukai school was founded by Kiyohide Shinjo (10th dan) in 1981 and is now one of the dominant schools of the style.

Our centre was established in 2011 to offer traditional karate training to children and adults. Our training sessions are specifically targeted and divided into age groups according to developmental stages with a focus on motor development, concentration and discipline. We have our own dedicated gym.

We run a sports club focused on the Japanese martial art Aikido. We teach Aikido to be functional and useful for life as it is. Our classes include instruction with weapons. You can come to us to practice and learn about our concept of Aikido. We accept new members from 14 to 99 years old (guys 40+ are welcome).
