The memorial in the baroque grounds makes a rich literary tradition accessible and popular. Permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibitions can be found here. It takes expert care not only of the books of the Benedictines, but also of the library of the parent Museum of Brno and, last but not least, of its own collections.

The regional gallery focuses on the presentation of contemporary art and the work of painter Josef Jambor. The collection of his works is presented within its own programme or on loan to other institutions. It supports young and medium-sized artists with an emphasis on the phenomenon of landscape. The museum can be found in the Renaissance scholastery in the main square. It preserves and documents the memory of the eastern Brno region. It prepares thematically diverse exhibitions for its visitors, always accompanied by a playroom or a programme for children.

In the place where the Svratka River bites into the rocky peaks of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, the construction of a massive castle began in the 13th century. The castle still retains its late Gothic to Renaissance appearance. The films The Visitors, How the Princesses Wake and The Devil Knows Why were filmed here.

The Jewish synagogue in Dolní Kounice was built in 1652-1655 in the early Baroque style and is one of the oldest synagogues in Moravia.

In the grounds of the national cultural monument Cistercian Abbey Porta Coeli in Předklášteří you will find a museum with permanent exhibitions and short-term exhibitions in the building of the former provost's office. The premises of the monastery church, now the parish church, are open at hourly intervals.

The memorial was built in honour of the victims of the Battle of Austerlitz, as intended by the priest and teacher Alois Slovák in fulfilment of his vision to make the centre of the former battlefield. Operation of a castle that also served as a filming location for the series Chetnik Humoresky. The castle was built during the Renaissance period. The castle includes an arcaded courtyard and a Gothic monastery church, which is now used mainly for concerts.

The museum in Ivančice is one of the oldest regional museums in Moravia. The museum now welcomes visitors to the exhibition spaces at Oslavany Castle, where temporary exhibitions on a wide variety of topics are held throughout the year. Oslavany Castle also houses a permanent lapidarium exhibition.

In our branch there are permanent exhibitions on the earliest history of the settlement of Moravia and the whole European continent.

The Wittal family’s functionalist villa was built in 1932 based on a design by architect Heinrich Blum. Over time, the Wittal family home became the residence of Nazi officers, later of Communist city officials, and eventually an apartment building. The villa is currently awaiting a complete renovation.
