The oldest and largest puppet museum in the Czech Republic located in the beautiful historic Mydlář House. Permanent exhibition focused on puppetry in the Czech Republic and abroad. The villa was built in 1885 by the prominent architect František Schmoranz Sr. for Jiří Larisch-Mönich, a descendant of the famous Uhlobarenos family from Karviná.

The memorial is located on the memorial grounds of a former Nazi execution site. During the second martial law in 1942, 194 victims lost their lives here. The castle was founded sometime in the late 13th century during the last Přemyslids' colonization of the still sparsely populated border forest of northeast Bohemia, which was a royal property.
