The municipal library is a public universal library and serves a regional function for professional and non-professional libraries of the Semily region. The main activity is the provision of public library and information services.

The bookstore with more than 10,000 titles focuses on books in the following areas: world and Czech fiction, philosophy, sociology, psychology, political science, history, art, children's literature, alternative medicine, maps and guides. You will also find small gifts for pleasure.
